Currently, if they want to play in Southwest, our children can select from these poor play outdoor options: the "duck pond" at 6th and I Streets, S.W.; the "pocket park" at 4th and G Streets, S.W.; (Please send photos of and your story about your children's Southwest play spaces! )
Coming soon:
Photos of existing Southwest playgrounds west of the Anacostia River, only two of which are available all day 7 days a week, one of which is indistinguishable as a play structure (the "pocket park" at 4th and G Streets), and the other of which is the "duck pond" consisting of a poorly maintained structure with a slide chuting into a sand pit frequently littered with paraphernalia which is unsuitable for children to handle.
